Dr Ahmad Farouk joined the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University in January 2007. He obtained his Masters of Medicine in Surgery in the year 2000.
He initially served as a lecturer and surgeon at Universiti Sains Malaysia before sub-specializing in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the National Heart Institute. He worked in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne in the year 2007-2008.
He has been actively involved in research work and had presented papers across Asia and Europe. He had won several distinguished medals at the National and International levels.
His research interest is in the field of minimally invasive surgery and atrial fibrillation. He is also actively involved in NGO work and had delivered talks in universities and other educational centres in Malaysia.
He is a founding member of Muslim Professionals Forum (MPF).
